This is a review of the free LogMeIn.com remote desk top access control program.
See this list of programs you can use for free and pro remote desk top acces control.
See this article for dumping your laptop, upgrading to a desk top and working remotely.
Have been using LogMeIn.com every day, all day, for a week. The program is adequate for use as a remote desk top.
I am going to focus on my complaints, because otherwise, LogMeIn.com is pretty much as good as sitting in front of my computer.
LogMeIn.com runs in a web browser. A lot of screen space is wasted when I want to work on the local computer and have my remote desktop in another window. Do not remember GoToMyPC, which my customer uses, having this problem.
In full screen mode, the entire screen is used, so that is fine.
My other major complaint is LogMeIn.com feels slow. My Internet connection speed on both ends is fast. GoToMyPC feels faster.
A nice to have would be a keyboard short cut to jump from fullscreen mode on the remote computer to the local computer. Be convenient to quickly jump back and forth.
